Phoebe Canakis
My art is a gift from both parents, blooming in a life shaped by beauty, loss, and legacy. I've chosen to walk this colorful path to honor this gift. I work in watercolor and collage, drawn to flowers, coastal stillness, and the quiet power of imperfection. As a dementia caregiver to my brilliantly creative mother, I found healing in the act of making—and now share that spark in classes I lead for older adults. Through these gatherings, I invite others to create without fear, to find their voice in color and texture, and to celebrate stories that deserve to be seen and remembered. My goal is to build spaces where art nurtures connection, honors memory, and reminds us that beauty is often found in what’s broken and bravely reimagined.
