The Artpothecary is DAC’s public arts space — a creative hub where people connect with artists through meaningful, art-driven experiences that support both community and creative careers.
The Artpothecary offers three ways to experience the space: Through renting the space for a private event, booking a Artist-Led Workshop & Cocktail Tasting, or visiting on Fresh Art Pop-Up Show series during the summer when we are open to the public.
All proceeds from Artpothecary events directly support the Developing Artist Collaboration or go straight to the DAC artists who lead these experiences. When you gather here, you’re investing in artists, creativity, and community.

Local DAC Artists take over the Artpothecary to showcase their unique creative concepts & engage with the community. We have something fresh for you to discover. Shows include traditional exhibitions, experimental installations, immersive experiences & so much more! Shows run Memorial Day through Labor Day and are open to the public on Fridays & Mondays.

We invite both DAC and non-member artists as well as community members to host their own events in this innovative space. The rental fee is based on the intention of the show. Reach out to us for more info!
Book a Artist Workshop

We offer DAC Artist-Led Workshops for groups of 10- 25 people. After you choose your party, you pay a $250 deposit to lock in your date. The balance is paid by the day of your workshop.
All DAC workshops are $135 per person and include a professional DAC Artist workshop and a signature cocktail tasting (plus open bar!)

All workshop bookings include a three-hour private event at the Artpothecary, a creative seasonal cocktail (or mocktail!) tasting, a full open bar, and exclusive access to the space. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks or food, or we can help coordinate options. There will also be a pop-up art show installed, so you’ll have a private art experience during your event.
Host a Private Event

Our private parties are booked in 3-hour time slots, and perfect for groups that want to enjoy the space without a structured art activity. Great for birthdays, bachelorette parties, & showers! Price includes a full-open bar (cocktails & mocktails), self-guided create & take decoupage art project, and option to add on food or entertainment.

There is a space rental fee of $65 per person. This includes full use of the space, full open bar, decoupage magnet create & take station, rent a tent to expand the space, event planning support, and plenty of add-ons from there.
You can have food delivered, hire live music, and more! For larger gatherings of 25+, we offer a set fee instead of a per-person fee. We require a $250 deposit to reserve the space.
Fresh Art Pop-Up Shows
Fresh Art Pop-Ups transform the Artpothecary into a rotating gallery space where artists experiment, take creative risks, and share new ideas with the community.
Each exhibition gives visitors the chance to experience original work up close, meet the artists behind it, and step into something unexpected.
During the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), Fresh Art Pop-Ups feature a new exhibition every week, showcasing solo and group shows from artists working across a wide range of mediums and concepts.
Summer exhibitions are open to the public:

• Saturday | 12–7 PM
• Sunday | 12–5 PM
• Monday | 5–9 PM
Each week brings a completely new show and a new opportunity to experience fresh work from DAC artists.
During the off-season, the Artpothecary hosts rotating monthly collections of artwork, allowing visitors and private event guests to experience curated selections of work from DAC artists throughout the year.

Create Art, Drink Cocktails
1. Choose from a rotating selection of DAC artist-led workshops. These private workshop & cocktail experiences begin at $135 per guest (discounts for groups of 15+). Includes artist instruction, all materials, private venue access, and curated cocktail experience. Each workshop is guided step-by-step by a professional DAC artist.
2. Reserve the Artpothecary - All private workshops include exclusive access to the Artpothecary for 3 hours. This allows time to arrive, settle in, create, and connect without feeling rushed.
3. Create + Sip - Your booking includes a curated creative cocktail or mocktail experience, plus complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages throughout your event. Guests are welcome to bring light bites, or we can coordinate elevated catering options.

Marsh Landscape Painting with Maggie
Paint your own Delaware Beaches landscape in this beginner-friendly acrylic workshop led by Maggie Heffernan. Participants will learn the fundamentals of acrylic painting on paper, including brush control, color mixing, and building strong compositions.
Maggie guides students through outlining a coastal scene, then explores layering techniques to create depth, texture, and atmosphere. Each participant develops their own unique interpretation of the landscape and leaves with a finished piece, professionally framed and ready to display.

Resin Pour with George
Create a stunning, ocean-inspired charcuterie board featuring realistic, food-safe resin waves. In this guided workshop, George walks participants step-by-step through the resin pouring process, teaching layering techniques to achieve depth, movement, and that signature coastal flow.
Guests can choose from multiple color palettes to customize their board, making each piece completely unique. All materials are included, and you’ll leave with a functional, food-safe serving board that captures the beauty of the Delaware coast.

Sailor Valentine Art with Kim
Step into coastal history while creating your own shell mosaic inspired by traditional sailor’s valentines. Originally crafted by sailors as keepsakes for loved ones, these intricate shell designs are known for their symmetry, delicate detail, and meaningful symbolism.
In this class, participants will design a shell mosaic on a 12” wooden circle with a pearlized painted background. The piece will feature a shell flower center and a symmetrical border using both whole and cut shells. Kim provides step-by-step instruction and all materials needed to complete a timeless coastal keepsake.
