Transforming communities by elevating Artists.

For generations, artists have been told to accept the “starving artist” narrative.
DAC exists to change that.

The Developing Artist Collaboration (DAC) exists to help artists build sustainable creative careers while strengthening the communities around them.

Artists are essential to vibrant communities. They create culture, spark innovation, and bring people together. Yet many artists struggle to access the resources, business education, and opportunities needed to sustain their work.

DAC was created to change that.

Through artist workforce development, sales opportunities, mentorship, and community programming, DAC supports artists at every stage of their creative journey while making art accessible to the communities we serve.

The Problem We’re Solving

Many artists are never taught how to build a business around their work or how to create a sustainable creative lifestyle. They often lack access to mentorship, marketing knowledge, financial planning tools, and consistent opportunities to sell their art.

At the same time, communities often lack accessible spaces where creativity can be experienced, shared, and celebrated.

DAC bridges that gap by supporting artists with the tools, opportunities, and community they need to build meaningful creative careers while helping communities connect more deeply with the artists around them.

We believe, when artists thrive so do communities. Our core foundation is here at DAC, we grow together.

How We Deliver Our Mission

Our Impact

What began as a grassroots collaboration between artists has grown into a vibrant creative ecosystem supporting artists and connecting communities across Sussex County.

DAC was built by artists who believed creativity could be sustainable — and over time that belief has turned into real impact for both artists and our community.

Looking Ahead

DAC began as a grassroots collaboration between artists searching for better opportunities. Over the next several years, DAC’s focus is on strengthening our foundation while expanding our impact through thoughtful, disciplined growth. DAC believes the future of the arts depends on artists having the tools, opportunities, and community needed to succeed.

By investing in artist workforce development, building strong local creative ecosystems, and expanding access to creative opportunity, DAC is helping shape a future where artists and communities grow together.

And this is only the beginning.
