Born and raised just outside of Washington, D.C. in Maryland, Casey Julia grew up immersed in the arts, frequently visiting local museums and the Smithsonian Institution. Her passion for creativity has been a lifelong constant, but it deepened after receiving a life-saving organ transplant in 2009, when art became a vital part of her healing journey. She earned a certification as a veterinary assistant and worked as a veterinary technician for over eight years. Just before the COVID-19 pandemic, a serious health emergency ended her veterinary career—yet it opened the door to a new chapter in art. During her recovery and the lockdown, Casey began exploring abstract, fluid, and graphic painting, finding deep personal and creative renewal through her work. What began as jewelry-making for children in hospitals has since grown into a broader artistic practice. In 2021, she launched Casey Julia Designs, selling her jewelry and artwork at local markets and fairs. Her presence continues to grow across the DMV area and Delaware, as she participates in festivals, markets, and galleries. In November 2022, Casey became the Taproom Artist at Calvert Brewing Company in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Today, she is the Taproom Artist at Mully’s Brewery in Prince Frederick, Maryland, where her artwork is displayed and available for purchase throughout the taproom. Through every piece, Casey continues to share a story of resilience, imagination, and healing.
