Fresh Art Pop-Ups is a free weekly summer series at the Artpothecary in historic West Rehoboth Beach, featuring rotating experimental art shows and experiences, artist meet-and-greets, music, and cocktails alongside the West Side Creative Market. No tickets are required. Just stop by Friday through Monday all summer long, with featured artists on site Fridays and Mondays.
Description
The Color of You is a curated installation telling the story of Black presence at the beach, moving from past to present to future.
Past — Limited Presence: archival imagery and historical references
Present — Unapologetic Expression: vibrant, contemporary visuals
Future — Collective Vision: interactive guest participation
Includes Behind the Ink, a tattoo art exhibit exploring identity, storytelling, and healing, with live tattooing integrated into the experience.
Featured Artists
Dakeim Tolson is a multidisciplinary visual artist, muralist, tattoo artist, and mentor whose work explores Black identity, emotional storytelling, and community. Working in acrylic, mixed media, murals, and tattooing, his practice examines love, resilience, vulnerability, and visibility within the Black experience.
As founder of Kreators Mill, a creative studio based in Camden, Delaware, Dakeim also mentors emerging artists and creates opportunities for collaborative artistic growth.
